Post Date:06/04/2019 12:44 pm

Blast into summer at one of Buckeye’s public libraries with a “Universe of Stories” during their Summer Reading Program going on now through the end of July at either the Downtown or Coyote Branch libraries.   Librarian reading book to young boy and girl

Readers of all ages can choose from a variety of programs while earning points towards great prizes like free books, food rewards from local restaurants and four tickets to a Phoenix Mercury game.

Anyone who earns over 1,000 points is entered in a special drawing for Harkins Movie passes and National Geographic telescopes. Just register and log your points at www.read20az.com.

There’s also a wide selection of STEM activities including a flight simulator, checking out live images of the moon, building bottle rockets with the Civil Air Patrol and space-themed programs for Baby Time and Story Time programs.

Mark your calendar for July 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and help us celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing at the Coyote Library. Enjoy a special showing of the movie Apollo 13 starting at 6 p.m.

We’ll wrap things up on July 31 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Coyote Library with an indoor, inflatable planetarium, Kids Zone, meteorite display and much more.
