James Shano appointed as Buckeye’s new Assistant City Manager
Buckeye City Manager Roger Klingler announces the appointment of James Shano, P.E. as the city’s new Assistant City Manager. Mr. Shano was previously the Interim City Manager for the city of El Mirage.
Shano brings more than 21 years of municipal experience to Buckeye with knowledge ranging from technical/professional engineering to executive level management. His career includes strategic planning, intergovernmental agreements for development and infrastructure, civil engineering, construction management and Capital Improvement Project management gained while with the cities of Peoria and Surprise and the town of Paradise Valley.
“I’m excited about the wonderful opportunity at the city of Buckeye, the seventh fastest growing city in the country,” Shano said. “With an excellent team of professionals already in place, I’m looking forward to working with them to further the quality of life for our residents and continue creating a successful future for Buckeye.”
Mr. Shano is a registered Professional Engineer, a certified Public Manager and holds a Certificate in Construction Management from Arizona State University. He also has Grade 4 certifications from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment.
Shano will begin his duties on April 2.
